Seasoned professional with sound management judgment and excellent technical writing and editing expertise needed to assist busy government contracting firm in Bethesda, MD. The individual must have at least 5 years’ experience writing and editing a variety of publications, including government technical reports, briefing and concept papers, and conference/meeting summaries, as well as corporate proposals, presentations, Web pages, pamphlets, brochures, and other informational and marketing tools. The individual must have extensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with the editorial production process used in most Federal Government agencies, from product conceptualization and design to preparation of camera-ready copy. The applicant must have a working knowledge of GPO editorial style and will have an advantage if familiar with APA style for the behavioral sciences. The successful candidate will understand how text manipulation must integrate with the capabilities of graphics and desktop publishing software, such as InDesign, and how publication production technologies are evolving. The ability to work within tight timeframes, handle multiple simultaneous tasks successfully, and work collaboratively in a team environment is essential for this position. Dynamic Bethesda-based management consulting firm is seeking seasoned educational consultants with subject-matter expertise in any of the following content areas for potential assignments on U. S. Department of Education (ED)-funded projects: (a) preprimary education, (b) family literacy, (c) elementary and secondary education, (d) vocational education, (e) postsecondary education, (f) adult education, (g) international education, (h) education for individuals with learning disabilities, (i) education for English language learners, (j) correctional education, and/or (k) vocational rehabilitation.
Consultants will provide technical assistance services to state and local level education agencies (SEAs and LEAs), their program grantees or sub-grantees in such areas as program organization, administration and implementation and evaluation. Additionally, consultants may assist ED in planning activities, conducting evaluations, or preparing reports and policy papers. Prior experience providing professional development for teachers and program administrators and/or conducting instructional design and policy development workshops desirable.
